Exceptional Insurance Advising: Going Beyond Basics

There are plenty of obvious reasons to use an insurance adviser such as they will help you find the right insurance mix for you, compare the insurance providers and show you some independent research and manage your insurance within a budget. However this is simply not enough to justify broker commissions. Consumers deserve a higher standard of advice. They should demand the following 3 things that separates brokers who are transacting from advisers who are with you for the journey...on your side.

1) Managing insurance spend over the years. Insurance should not about one transaction and goodbye! Insurance gets more expensive with age and a good adviser will have a plan to help you control your spend or reduce it! A good adviser wants you to reduce your spend where appropriate. For example as your mortgage value decreases, or your kiwi saver balance increases, you will need less insurance. A good adviser will be on top of this and proactive

2) Underwriting: An adviser should help you to get the best terms possible. They should be strong at representing your medical position and negotiating about it. They should be routing your application to the best underwriter in the first place.

3) Claims: In my experience when people are claiming they are highly distressed. They don't want to deal with financial and admin stuff because sometimes they can't. They should expect to work with someone who knows them well, who cares about them, who already holds their policy details who can just tell them what needs to be provided to claim, and then sort it out for them ASAP. They should expect to work with someone who treats this as the most important part of their job. I know if something happens to me tomorrow, I don't want my wife digging around for policies or calling an 0800 number.

You deserve a higher standard of advice, expertise support and care.
