How To Transfer GBP to NZD

At Windsor Wealth, we closely monitor FX rates, especially for clients transferring pensions from the UK to New Zealand or selling their UK home to use as a deposit here. The exchange rate you secure can have a significant impact, so we review the latest rates each month to help you make informed decisions.

Wise typically offers competitive rates, but we've always emphasized that the best provider last month might not be the best this month. It's crucial to check the market regularly to ensure you’re getting the most favourable rate.

Our latest FX rate table, updated as of August 21st at 5:49am, highlights the following:

  • XE currently offers better GBP/NZD rates than Wise.

  • Banks continue to offer poor FX rates. For example, converting £100,000 to NZD through your bank could cost you approximately $4,000 more compared to using a currency specialist like XE or Wise.

For significant transactions, every bit counts, so always compare rates before making a transfer. If you need guidance on FX, Pension, or Mortgage strategy, we are here to help.
